Working Principle:

Two conductors (rain sensors) are placed closed together but they are not allowed to touch each other. There remains a gap between them. When water falls on the circuit, it allows the current to flow through it which sends the current to make your alarm glow or beep, either way you like. You can make an alarm which glows or beeps when it rains!

Construction:

Important thing is to join the components correctly for which I am sharing the circuit diagram in next section which will help you to make connections easily and moreover the current produced by the circuit is very minute which can only make LED to glow or could make buzzer to produce sound. Current less than 40 volts can’t be sensed by human body. It’s not dangerous at all.

Your water alarm can be activated with the help of a single water drop too!

Aluminum tubes (rain sensors) are fixed on a plastic plate with a small distance between them and water acts as a medium of connection between them and with the competition of circuit, your LED will glow.

Circuit diagram and its significance:

Circuit diagram plays a very important role. If your circuit diagram is correct, then definitely your rain alarm will work, only need is to join the components correctly and components should be in condition to work. Ruined parts could create problems.

Join circuit as shown below. At the place of LED, you can join buzzer. Buzzer will produce sound and LED will glow when it rains. Rest of the circuit and components will remain same.

I’ve always liked to join circuits. It’s quite interesting to see a circuit on paper and then further joining it with your own hands. It will produce very less current which can other lighten up LED and noting more than it. But join correct terminals and use wires which can only take lesser current. 

It’s fun to join your own circuit and make your own alarm. Especially, high school students can make it easily. It would be better if you consult your science teacher before joining it.

• It is interesting to know that earth changes its polarity which means that North Pole converts into South Pole and vice-versa. This change of polarity can occur after a period of 5000 years to 5 million years.

• Jupiter acts as a life saver to Earth. It sucks all the debris from the solar system before it reaches forward. The reason for this this phenomenon is the gravitational pull of the Jupiter which allows it to create an attractive force to clean up the solar system!

• Which is the hottest planet? Your answer will be mercury. Right! But it’s not actually true. Venus is the hottest of all the planets. Mercury is however closest to sun but possess no atmosphere to hold the heat taken from the sun. On the other hand, Venus has very thick atmosphere to trap heat and thus is the hottest!

• Your one day visit to Mercury will be fifty eight days on planet earth! In actually, the same phenomenon can be experienced by visiting Antarctica where day and night are of six months!

• If it is calculated physically on mass then our solar system is made up of 99% of the sun’s mass and rest 1% accounts for the mass of planets and other asteroids!

Isn’t it peculiar to know more about our solar system? There are a lot of facts which will widen your eyes. Our solar system is unique in its existence and so as we!

One such name of a teacher is Walter Lewin. He is a Dutch astrophysicist and a former professor at Massachusetts. He is the author of the book ‘For the Love of Physics’ and his contribution to astrophysics comprises the discovery of first slowly rotating neutron star through all-sky balloon surveys and research in X-ray detection. 

He himself had always remained an interesting teacher and the way he clears the concepts of Physics is incredible. For him, Physics is most interesting thing and his lectures are equally interesting as his words.

We are sharing two of his demonstrations of experiments to elaborate the theoretical concepts practically to the students. You will find it interesting, I swear!

1. As you all are familiar with the experiment of pendulum and its oscillations. In schools, you might have performed the same experiment to count the oscillations completed by pendulum which seems so boring but the way he has performed the experiment would surely make you to know its importance and your interest in the subject will be amplified. You’re surely going to love his experiment. Here is the video explaining the phenomenon clearly.

2. His second experiment which we are sharing is related to the scattering of light. You might be familiar with the phenomenon of polarization. You might have studied about Malus law. Right? You might be aware of the properties of polarized and unpolarised light but the way he has explained the phenomenon will blow your mind. As smoke has smaller particles, when it is seen in polarized light, it seems blue but if the size of particle is increased, its color becomes white. It’s what we study theoretically. He increased the size of particles by storing it in his lungs and when they are poured in the polarized light. It seems white. Have a look!

1) NASA not returning back to moon: It has always remained a question of curiosity for people that why has NASA never returned to moon? NASA has never answered clearly that why after Apollo mission, no other mission has took place. If there’s no such thing than why are they studying moon from far away only. Why the footage of only Apollo 18 went missing? It’s also said that they were warned not to return to moon. 

2) Astronomer’s stand: Astronomers says that they have seen UFO’s on the surface of moon. In years from 1540 to 1967, around six hundred strange events have occurred all around the globe in which UFO’s were seen.

3) Strange black cloud: Although NASA remains curious of discovering things but when in 1967 Canadian researchers saw a black cloud over the surface of moon at the same place from where Apollo 18 went missing, why didn’t it increased their curiosity of going back there?

4) Mysterious shadows: Mysterious shadows are seen over the surface of the moon by the observers. 

5) Rocks of moon: The rocks that are brought from moon are different and unique. The rocks are having small cylindrical caves inside them. Formation of those caves with such a precision could surely require very high technology.

6) Missing rocks: Those extraordinary rocks started to get missing. They were kept in high security, still they got stolen. Along with the rocks of moon, some precious rocks from other planets also started to get missing. They were stored in high security area; still there were no sign of any thief. It’s like those rocks are getting lost in the air!

7) Mythologies: If we see the stories of different mythologies from all around the globe, we can find out different legends saying a same thing. The main thing to focus upon is that every story tells something which is common and this common thing is visit of “Gods” from other celestial bodies. It may be possible that those gods were aliens who are watching us every time. It seems creepy but it might be possible.

8) Nuclear activity measurement: On some sites of Mohenjo-Daro, when the measurements of radio activity were taken, it’s assumed as if the whole town was destroyed due to nuclear explosion. It was a 50 yards diameter which is affected by radioactivity and the body remains are still there. Those bodies were neither burnt nor buried. They were not even touched by animals. Humans hadn’t developed nuclear bomb at that time. So from where such thing came? 

There are a number of facts which point towards the probability of Aliens being living on the moon and its correct answer could only be known after the navigation of moon again!
