"If you are or ever were an introvert, this article is for you!"

People often see introverts as weak and fragile. They are people who are regularly made to think over themselves for self-improvement. But why they are forced to become someone they are not? It’s something that puts their moral down and believe me it’s entirely a trap for you if you are an introvert.

Introversion is something related to the personality of an individual. It has its own advantages and limitations like extroversion but still our society doesn’t accept it with dignity. People often tag them as confused or shy which is on the contrary their choice.

Well, if you give a deeper visit to the life of an introvert; you will find a number of reasons which will surely make you crave to become like them. They are somebody with gigantic imagination, full of sarcasm and surely the ones with enigmatic perception which makes them special.

Who the hell says introverts don’t succeed in their life? Most of the successful people of the world have been introverts. It’s not something that I am saying but history speaks itself. Albert Einstein, Bill Gates, Sir Issac Newton and Mark Zuckerberg are some of the most successful and renowned names you have ever heard. These all people have played a role of introvert in their lives.

If you are an introvert, cherish yourself. It’s absolutely okay if you need your own space. It’s really okay if you choose to express yourself with notebooks than individuals. It’s alright if you mess up with things. It’s totally okay.

What isn’t okay is your way of disregarding yourself. It’s not okay to think yourself even a bit inferior to anyone. It’s not acceptable. You must love yourself and believe your instinct which will surely take you somewhere you really belong!

Staring at rain outside the window with a cup of hot coffee in one hand and a book (I mean a good one) in another, isn’t it really a good idea of spending a day before your house tests?

Exams in engineering are like some kind of superstitious rituals which lasts for four precious years until you get married to this engineering degree and all you do about your this “unknown” marriage is to witness and perform these rituals with your sleepy eyes that you probably wake up when it’s all about to end.

On this occasion everyone thinks that this species is so hard working and dedicated that they have performed every ritual by waking up late at nights. Who knows the secret behind their last night fight?

Even the night studies are not meant for just day. They are meant for the night just before the FINAL exams. These blood sucking exams have now become an anniversary of engineering which comes after every two months so that you can’t get a heart attack at once before the exams. Two sessional are meant to give you fine little attacks so that you can fake the last one. Now surviving these attacks will need pills of study for 1-2 hours.

It’s a predefined yet discoverable phase in engineer’s life when he /she transform themselves. From first year till you reach final year, way of doing anything changes.

A first year student starts preparing days before house tests even. A second year student shortens it and starts studying a day or two before exams. Third year student now knew to wake up a little earlier to open a book for an hour or two before exam and final year students just need to open and close a book.

No matter how much time you devote, either it was a long day’s study in first year or a minute’s study in final year; scores have always remained constant.

For me, rain is like tiny water droplets that bring a lot of questions and thoughts like it just did today..!!!

So, how does rain feel to you??

Bit by bit, little by little, life goes on and on….

You don’t realize the change but you only feel it, feel it like a thorn hurting you. You don’t realize the change but once it is done, you appreciate each and everything. You appreciate each positive moment full of happiness and cherish negative moments which has made you hurt because these are moments which had pulled you back to move forward with more speed.

Every little thing which we’d felt at a moment not worthy was a simple step of our evolution. We might take a step back by thinking that whatever we are thinking is rubbish or has no value or use but sincerely our every action possesses a value. Everything leaves a mark. Even I am writing this article now, this will surely a change for something. I may not be realizing it and carving words of my heart in it but maybe after a long time when I’ll be reading it, things will be surely different and no matter what I’ll be smiling on it.

I feel restless when I got free time. It’s like I need some work or something to do every time. It has become my routine and without it, restlessness surrounds me. Now I feel wastage of time when I don’t utilize my energy for something productive.

One or two years back, I’d a lot of free time chatting with friends and wasting a lot of time just in fantasy and sleep. What it had gifted to me was a loss!

I lost my passion, my ways, my dreams and I became a blank page. All my dreams were lost. I was lost. I was thriving for something and I didn’t even know that. Something was disturbing which I was unable to figure out until it became my need to remain busy. In that particular time, I wanted to discover myself. I wanted to be same as I was. A happy, cheerful, thoughtful and hard working girl that was confident enough to bring change in this world. Now, I was lost and this world had changed me. I had become weak. I wanted to get my strength back. I wanted my confidence back which I’d almost lost.

Yeah, it needed time but at least I reached at the right track. There were many difficulties but whatever I wanted to be, I reached again at that destination. Obviously, I can’t be exactly same as I was but yes I am not the one I didn’t want to be. I have tensions, problems but above all now I have myself.

A lot of things occur and they taught us the way of living. I used to think that I have enough experiences to know and judge the world but it was not the case. Experiences are never ending part of life. We need to maintain and love our originality. We need to understand ourselves from within.

It depends only on you whether you want to bring a change or to become someone’s change. Better you choose former one because later one will make you to strive for former!

They don’t even know your pain; they hadn’t witnessed situations you have gone through. Nobody will even understand you better than yourself. The person you are waiting for to save you from all those painful feelings is you my dear. No one will know your ways better than you. Nobody could choose the best for you. It’s you who knows yourself best.”

I was a girl who had constantly fought with demons which didn’t even belong to me. They were not my creations. Like a free bird, I always wanted to fly. Unfamiliar to this world, I had my own world of dreams. But the demons of judgment were thrown on me. They made me ache; they made me weep but I had belief to do something; something which would silently slap these demons. I wanted to fight with society which is just not more than bullshit.

I had courage to fly high; to rise above the horizon but suddenly, I started to suspect myself. I lost my confidence. These demons and their ideal principles started taking a step over me. They started to occupy me. Unaware of the fact, I went into the dark deep sea of these demons.

As I grew up, every day, a new battle was waiting for me. I started to enter in this fake world and its principles started to overcome me. I stopped doing what I was supposed to. I forgot what goals I wanted to achieve and one more victim of broken dreams formed on this earth.

I thought someday someone will come and help me out from this mess. I became struck at a point. I wanted to move and tried but all those demons suppressed me.

These demons converted a girl who was all time radio to a girl who is shy and reserve. It’s now difficult for me to open up to anyone. It’s not like I don’t trust people but now I know they are not the ones who will provide me a remedy. There is no need to tell people what you are gone through.

When I started to discover the need to address myself first, I understood that the person I was ever searching for was me. I have lost the faith that someone will come and ask me to walk along with them.

I don’t ask people to do a favor on me nor even can I. I don’t tell people that I need them even when I need them at worst. I don’t know what destination I will reach by this but surely this has made me independent.

People can call me hard as rock but they don’t even know how much emotions and feeling are lying beneath an unspoken mouth. Words will surely be forgotten but the feelings which I am taking away with time will surely remain.

It’s like walking on seashore all alone with air touching your face, messing up with your hair, playing with your clothes and making you smile.

Of course I want somebody to walk with me; to cherish moments of life with me but I am not expecting somebody now to make me stand, to push me to walk with them b’cuz I know nobody could ever do that.

Maybe somewhere deep down, I want someday all these statements will be disproved and life could be like a fairy tale!

Holi: A festival for integrity

Holi is a festival of joy; it is a festival to cherish beautiful colors of your life; it is meant to respect victory of truth over devil and to bring people together; it is meant to enjoy with as many people as you can. It’s always good to fill lives of people with colors. Not only these colors of Holi touch people physically but emotionally these colors leave an unbound and loving impact somewhere inside.

In today’s world, when people are busy in their own lives they don’t realize how far they are going from people who surrounds them. Only social networking has become a sole reason of connection with people.

This festival is meant to break this stereotype at least once a year. Everyone wants a colorful life and Holi gives us a chance to realize this. These colors are meant to spread a feeling of oneness, happiness and joy everywhere.

On this Holi, I enjoyed a lot with my friends. We were six people standing near Mahamaya temple when we saw the board of old age home in front of us. We decided to go inside and celebrate Holi with people there. I remember when we entered the gate; there was only silence which we were feeling. As we took some steps further, we heard a voice “RAM RAM”. Kritika, as a resident of that area was accustomed to these words; the old man who was sitting there had made his habit to converse with people and wish them “RAM RAM”. We said the same in return.

We asked them to play Holi with us. We made their face colorful and all of them were smiling. When we took photographs with them, they were enthusiastic and happy to cherish those moments with us. They blessed us and we left the place but before we could leave, that old man again said, “Kal bhot log aayenge tum bhi ana beta”. We smiled and gave him a nod.

We stood at a nearby place to have a chit chat where Riya and Geetanjali dared me to color policemen’s face with Holi. I accepted and went to him. At first he denied but then agreed to put on a Holi tika. As I came back to my friends, an uncle came and he asked us to put on Holi tika to his face. There was another women sitting and watching our mischiefs. She was smiling at us.

I went to her and asked whether I could put colors to her face. She was delighted and we spread colors to her face. She was not known yet she was happy to celebrate Holi with us. I think somewhere we are lacking in connecting with people. It’s an important part and I realized the need of this connection this year on Holi.

All I learnt this Holi is that it’s not just physical colors that we put on people but it’s more than it. Your single touch of delight can make someone’s day. These colors remind us the need of addressing people. It teaches us to spread colors and bring smile to their faces!

My experiences as a music student

During my middle and high school, I’d opted for music as an additional subject. At that point of time, our group of eight girls was always chosen for group song. Every time a new music composition made by ‘Sir’ was taught to us. Sometimes, we used to sing ragas. I remember raga ‘kaafi’. It had always appeared the most melodious one to me and I’d always chosen this to sing at practical.

Once I remember, I was in seventh standard and I came out of the room after writing my theory paper. When I came outside, I was asked to sing a Bhajan. I was not accustomed to Bhajans but as it was a part of exam, I recalled one of the Bhajans which my grandma used to sing at Kirtan.

It was a Bhajan of Lord Krishna as my grandma is a devotee of him. I recalled and sang four to five lines of it. I was not even sure that I was pronouncing correct words or not. But I collected the courage and tried to sing it well.

‘Sir’ praised me but wrote O on paper in front of my name. I was like had I sung so bad that I got zero? Moreover, with that zero Sir had praised me. I went to the ground to meet my friends and told them what I sung. They firstly laughed and then told me, nobody of them sang a Bhajan as they didn’t know any. They were given an option to sing National Song or Anthem.

I was like I had got a zero. To save myself from more embarrassment, I decided not to tell them what I saw.

After some days when school announced results and report cards were given. I was shocked to see that I’d got 80+ marks in every subject but in music I’d got a zero.

When my mom saw it, she told me that it’s not zero but it’s Grade ‘O’. I felt some relief but the question was still striking what does it mean?

When after holidays, we’d to return the report cards to our class teacher and this grade was making me embarrassed to show it to anyone. Sir told the whole class that only I had got the best grade ‘O’ which means more than outstanding. It means I’d got grade better than A+. For giving me this grade, major reason wasn’t my voice but courage and my try to sing Bhajan. Nobody else had even tried for it.

It was the day I felt the need to show courage in every aspect of this. This middle school incident was one of those incidences which inspired me to become confident and to work hard without taking care of external environment.

You need to work with focus without thinking of results and ultimately things themselves fall at their place!

World’s five fantastic scientists

Although there are many scientists who have contributed a lot to science, I am discussing about five of them who were the most influential scientists of human history!

1) Issac Newton (1643-1727): He has remained the most influential yet controversial scientist of all the times. He was the man who had laid the foundation of modern day’s physics and mathematics. He had discovered gravity and invented Calculus. What we learn today in these subjects are purely the outcomes of Newton’s work. He is the inventor of Newtonion mechanics. His contributions for mathematics and physics are really remarkable!

2) Albert Einstein (1879-1955): Albert Einstein is rather great man of values other than a curious scientist. He was not a very good student but he became a great scientist by his incredible work. He had received ‘Nobel Prize in Physics’ in 1921 especially for the discovery of photoelectric effect. His special theory of relativity was his major contribution to modern physics. His contributions in physics are broad. He had explained Brownian movement and wave theory of particles. His absolute laws for mass and energy has changed the whole concept of the matter.

3) Nikola Tesla (1856-1943): He was one of the most intelligent scientists ever known. You would be amazed to know that he was college dropout. He was addicted to gambling and thus lost all his money including his fees to gambling. Later he didn’t get time to study and thus dropped out in the last semester. He has started doing his remarkable work with Edison. Once Tesla told Edison that he could redesign Edison’s inefficient motors and generators to which Edison challenged him if he could do it, Edison would pay him fifty thousand dollars. Tesla completed the task but Edison was unable to pay such a sum of money together. Tesla left and after some years developed “Induction motor” which was truly the most important inventions of him.

4) Galileo Galilei (1564-1642): He is considered as the “father of modern observational astronomy”, the “father of science”, and “The father of Modern Science”. He has contributed to observational astronomy by telescopic confirmation of Venus. He discovered the four largest satellites of Jupiter. It was Galileo who supported Copernicanism and gave Heliocentralisation theory to support the idea that earth revolves around sun but was put on house arrest by the church and he spent his last years on house arrest.

5) Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519): He was an Italian Polymath. He had conceptualized a helicopter, a calculator and outlined the rudimentary theory of plate tectonics. During his lifetime, only very few designs were constructed as construction of others were not feasible.

These scientists have given us the base on which present technology is being constructed. These are actually the people behind the major concepts of science, mathematics and astronomy!

What impact does your way of talking leave?

Communication is an integral part of life. You need to communicate with a lot of individuals every day. When you speak to someone, the way you talk leaves an impact of you on them!

It’s a very important part of personality. It reflects your inner self. Your talking sense reveals many things about your personality.

When you meet somebody, try to be polite and confident. Here are some impacts which you make on someone while talking!

Impact of people with poor communication skills: People with poor communication skills often leave a bad impression on another person. They show the sign of being introvert. In spite of possessing enough knowledge, their way of talking leaves a bad impact of them. They became unable to express themselves creating problems to them only. It’s really important to work on yourself in such situation. When you possess poor communication skills, it is either seen as a sign of low self-esteem or less grooming. This problem needs to be addressed early!

Impact of people with average communication skills: These people lies in between the people having poor communication skills and good communication skills. These people reflect a personality which is currently trying to learn and is grooming personally and professionally. People with average communication possess some advantages and disadvantages. These people are neither purely introverts nor extroverts. These people generally possess traits of both.

Impact of people with good communication skills: People with good communication skills knowingly or unknowingly attains power. They generate a power to influence people easily. People actually like to listen to their talks. They know what to say? When to say? How to say? These people can sense the intentions of the person next to them and chooses their words correctly. They are people who are loved by everyone due to their jolly nature but if they act chocolaty, lesser people listens to their conversation. They no doubt possess good communication skills but they sometimes become busy in themselves that they start doing one sided communication.

People with excellent communication skills: This is the class of people who can act as a leader. These people are usually preferred for managing and leading roles. These people can convert any situation in their favor. They have quality of influencing people deeply. They are the actual players of words. Nobody can deny the fact that they possess unending charm. With their grace and playful words, they attain support of many people. They talk with facts and things ultimately falls in their favor.

Communication has always remained a crucial part in life. It has always played a key role in making things in your favor. Don’t underestimate the power of words. They say much more about your personality.

Don’t make it a barrier in your growth but make it a stair for your evolution!

Cartoons have always fascinated kids. Today, when I see kids watching cartoons, I join them sometimes. I personally feel that cartoons of our era were much better and fascinating then what today’s kids watch. I am sharing about some of the fantastico cartoons of all times!

1) Simba: The lion king: It was the most popular cartoon series of television. Nobody could opt to miss a single episode of it at any cost. The story was ongoing and a lot of fun and adventure have lied in their journey. It had always remained the best cartoon I’ve ever seen and I think most of you too have loved it. Every cartoon character of this series was unique in them. I remember how we people had cried to know that Simba died but at the end he returned back and joy filled everywhere. Those cartoons have something that had emotionally linked children to them which I don’t find in today’s cartoon characters.

2) The Powerpuff Girls: It was a television series which I had seen on “Cartoon Network”. It had always remained close to me and had always inspired me to fight against evil in my childhood. These cartoons always had a story to tell. The way Mojo-jojo used to perform evil tasks and Powerpuff girls had always got a call from Mayor to take revenge from Mojo-jojo, they have always fled with their superpowers. We were three girls at home and literally, we’d thought to be the powerpuff girls for the city.

3) Tom and Jerry: Tom and Jerry has always remained all-time favorite cartoon of most of the people. I’d always liked its series in which they both were children and its title song was awesome. Without singing that song, Tom and Jerry ritual had remained incomplete. It was like the Cartoon Anthem.

4) Richie Rich: Who doesn’t like a lot of money with a robot like Irona who can do almost anything? Richie rich have always remained a cartoon who was an intelligent and rich fellow. His majestic way of living was enough to get children involve in him. I had always liked the GEMS at the end of episodes.

5) Ostwald: Ostwald was world’s cutest and descent octopus. He was the most generous guy who had preached children to be generous and helpful. He had never denied anyone for anything. I still remember his episodes. The best part was their yummy ice-creams.

6) Noddy: A little and most charming cartoon character ‘Noddy’ had always remained in the top list of cartoon characters. His colorful town, people and his fun loving behavior had always captivated children. It was a cartoon character for which people used to fight. His car was much more important than anything to children.

I have a very long list of cartoon episodes which have always remained source of joy and inspiration to me. I think those cartoons were a creative way of inspiring and motivating children to choose right path and to work for good cause!

Women can't lead, who said?

These women entrepreneurs correct the stereotype in the minds of most of the people who considers women to be weak. These women have not only made their name famous as business leaders but have also made an impact to motivate other women to move forward to choose way towards their goal.

These ladies have proved our society that women are equal to men in every term either its IQ or leadership skills. These ladies are really inspiration to the girls out there!

1) Indra Nooyi: Indra Nooyi is the current chairman and CEO of PepsiCo which is world’s second largest food and beverage business firm. She was ranked 13 in Forbes World’s most powerful women in 2014. She has always remained in top 100 World’s most powerful women in leading magazines like Forbes and Fortune. She is basically an Indian but has earned American citizenship by naturalization. She has earned Padma Bhushan for her business achievements and becoming an inspiration for Indian Corporate leaders. She is really a lady made of million gemstones!

2) Naina Lal Kidwai: Naina Lal Kidwal is Group General Manager and country Head at HSBC, India. She has earned her bachelor degree from Lady Shri Ram College for Women and is the first Indian women to graduate from Harvard Business School by getting her MBA degree. She is among top 100 women in business by Fortune global list. She has earned Padma Shri for her contribution in Trade and industry.

3) Kiran Mazumdar Shaw: Kiran Shaw is the founder and CMD of Biocon. She started her business as an enzymes manufacturing industry and converted it into a bio-pharmaceutical industry. She has earned her Bachelor’s from Mount Carmel College, Bangalore University. She is awarded with Othmer Gold Medal in 2014. She has made her place in TIME magazine’s 100 most influential people in the world. She is present with prestigious Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan by Indian Government.

4) Chanda Kochar: Chanda Kochar is MD and CEO of ICICI Bank which is India’s largest private bank. She was listed in top 100 powerful business women by Forbes. Under her leadership, ICICI bank won many awards including ‘Retail Banker of the year 2004’. She had also made her space in top 100 most powerful women list by Forbes. She has also remained part of Fortune’s list of most powerful women in business for a number of times. She had been awarded Padma Bhushan by government of India.

5) Indu Jain: Indu Jain is the founder and former chairperson of “The Times” group. She is founder and President of the Ladies Wing of FICCI (FCO). She is also chairperson of Bharatiya Jnanpith trust. She is awarded Padma Bhushan in 2016 by government of India. She is a part and women behind providing guidelines to many forums including ‘The Oneness Forum’.

These ladies are proof that anything can be achieved with your strong willpower and firm determination. These women are surely inspiration to the women all around the globe!

Imagine, Imagine, Imagine!

Imagination is a process which enables you to see beyond horizon. Imagination plays a crucial role in our lives. We realize it or not but imagination is an inseparable part of life. According to researches, a human brain witness 60,000 thoughts in a day. Isn’t it enough evidence that either knowingly or unknowingly, we are imagining something which doesn’t even exist?

If you have seen a documentary ‘Secret of Life’, it is claimed that our thoughts turn into actions. Imagination is the first step which we choose for our lives. It has a diverse impact on the way our life is heading to.

When you think of something and keep your belief firmly on it, results are that the thing you are believing starts to convert into reality. Imagination gives you opportunity to choose your life.

Sometimes, people get disappointed for not getting what they want. It’s because they fear more than they believe. They don’t believe in their own self. Believing yourself is necessary.

Einstein has always said, “Imagination is more important than knowledge”.

Personalities who have changed the whole world were not full of knowledge but they were keen observers who could imagine. They created knowledge. Today the things which we are studying are created by them.

It was their imagination in which they kept their belief and that granted fruits. Imagination has a huge impact on our lives.

In Indian rituals, it has been a tradition to take ‘Sankalp’ which is nothing but imagining what you want and believing to act on it. This makes mind to take a direction.

Imagination has power and it has impact on you more than anything!

Nobody extraordinary person has ever born who hasn’t imagined and kept belief on it. Either it was Shakespeare or Galileo they were firm on their words. They had imagined the world of future. They have observed things and made imagination.

The cutting-edge example is the ‘Gravitation Waves Theory’ of Einstein which he had been given hundred years back. Scientist took hundred years to accept that his imagination was true but he had already imagined gravitation waves and has given his space-time curve theory to provide proof to his imagination.

Others believed him or not but he had belief of himself. Think if we had accepted his theory hundred years back, the modernization of current world would be too high. We are exploring galaxies and thus thriving to know our universe. People who were keen observer of stars have already written in Vedic books about the things we are exploring today. They didn’t have technology with them but they surely had their brain which they have used far much better than us.

Imagination has always remained a key source of every invention and believing firmly on it provides you the path which you always thrive for. All you need is to believe on your imagination and yourself truly and see things turning out in your favor not immediately but eventually!

APJ Abdul Kalam was a world class leader who has casted his golden shadow in the lives of present and future generation. He was a fantastico personality who with his iron zeal transformed and achieved what he wanted to. He has inspired lives with his words and actions itself.

During his childhood, he had witnessed discrimination on the basis of caste but with it he had also found people who stood by his side. His way of interpretation towards the world became very optimistic and he stressed onto the affirmative side of anything.

He was born in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu and his father was a boat owner. Despite of many problems in his early life, he studied hard and ultimately turned out as a diamond for India. He became an exceptionally great scientist after starting his job from Defense Research Development Institute (DRDO) as a scientist. He alone started the work on expandable rocket project at DRDO in 1965. It was in 1969 when he received government approval and engaged more engineers in his work. This ultimately had started his journey to become the “Missile Man” of India.

He worked with Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) as a project director of India’s first satellite launch vehicle with which ‘Rohini’ satellite was positioned in near-earth orbit in 1980. Afterwards, he became an integral part of ISRO and did numerous projects with them.

Kalam had a vital importance in development of missiles including ‘Agni’ and ‘Prithvi’. When Dr. Kalam was Chief Scientist Advisor to Prime Minister, Pokhran-II nuclear tests were piloted where his role was political and technological. It was the time when he came into limelight by Media. He was called as the best nuclear scientist.

There is a stent known as ‘Kalam-Raju’ stent and a health care computer known as ‘Kalam-Raju’ tablet. These low cost devices were invented by Dr Kalam and Dr Soma Raju.

When Dr. Kalam became the 11^th President of India in 2002, it was a very laid-back victory for him as he got utmost support from people. During his five years tenure as a president, he became popularized by the name “People’s President”. People wanted him to become President again but he decided not to participate in elections.

Afterwards, he served as visiting professors to numerous institutes. When he resigned from his post as scientific adviser, he started his work to communicate with young minds of India. He often said that he loved the company of students, especially high school students.

He wanted to share his experiences and knowledge with the young generation of India to help them realizing their dreams. He ignited zeal in young people to believe and work on their dreams.

He had written many scientific and non-scientific books along with his Autobiography “Wings of Fire”.

He was an extraordinary person whose life and words inspire a lot of people. On 27 July, 2015 he breathed his last while doing his much loved work of addressing students in Shillong!
