Introversion...why is it a taboo?

"If you are or ever were an introvert, this article is for you!"

People often see introverts as weak and fragile. They are people who are regularly made to think over themselves for self-improvement. But why they are forced to become someone they are not? It’s something that puts their moral down and believe me it’s entirely a trap for you if you are an introvert.

Introversion is something related to the personality of an individual. It has its own advantages and limitations like extroversion but still our society doesn’t accept it with dignity. People often tag them as confused or shy which is on the contrary their choice.

Well, if you give a deeper visit to the life of an introvert; you will find a number of reasons which will surely make you crave to become like them. They are somebody with gigantic imagination, full of sarcasm and surely the ones with enigmatic perception which makes them special.

Who the hell says introverts don’t succeed in their life? Most of the successful people of the world have been introverts. It’s not something that I am saying but history speaks itself. Albert Einstein, Bill Gates, Sir Issac Newton and Mark Zuckerberg are some of the most successful and renowned names you have ever heard. These all people have played a role of introvert in their lives.

If you are an introvert, cherish yourself. It’s absolutely okay if you need your own space. It’s really okay if you choose to express yourself with notebooks than individuals. It’s alright if you mess up with things. It’s totally okay.

What isn’t okay is your way of disregarding yourself. It’s not okay to think yourself even a bit inferior to anyone. It’s not acceptable. You must love yourself and believe your instinct which will surely take you somewhere you really belong!

Global dimming and its impacts

Global dimming determines the drop in solar energy which is reaching earth’s surface. This phenomenon was firstly observed by Israel researchers. It was found out that between the years 1950 to 1980, amount of solar energy reaching earth’s surface had dropped 60% in British Isles, 30% in Russia, 10% in US and 9% in Antarctica.

The cause of global dimming is accumulation of bigger man-made particles in air. As earth takes some amount of light from sun and rest is reflected back to the cosmos. This reflection of light is done by water droplets present in atmosphere.

As clouds contain most of the water of atmosphere, it contains tiny droplets of water which reflects light. As in air, impurities like Sulphur dioxide and aerosols are accumulating due to pollution. This polluted air when holds water particles, impurities too act as liquid particles making the clouds much bigger. Thus these clouds act as a giant mirror which reflects light back to space. Although global dimming is like dimming of a light source which will obviously cause discomfort so are its negative impacts. With negative impacts, this phenomenon has some positive perks too!

Negative impacts:

As lesser light is available to earth, it’s causing lesser evaporation and thus lesser rain. In 1984, Sahel in Northern Africa didn’t witnessed monsoon for a decade causing death of many people due to famine. Scientists claim that the effect of global dimming will not be for millions of people but it will affect billions of people with it. Asian monsoons are reason of rainfall for almost half of the world. It is assumed that if Asian rainfall started affecting adversely due to global dimming, it will affect nearly three billion people of the world!

Positive impact:

After reading about the deadly impacts of global dimming, it’s obviously difficult to believe that it will possess some positive impacts. Positive side of this coin is that it saves us from “global warming”. Global warming is surely an issue of concern to our survival. When more light is reflected back i.e lesser is the rise in the temperature of earth. So, it contributes to control global warming. If this phenomenon of global dimming will vanish, it’ll increase the temperature of earth by one degree centigrade which takes several decades to increase. Thus its obvious global dimming is saving us from much larger problems!

It’s actually a silent killer which is a threat to human life. In both the cases, either global dimming or global warming, human species have to witness ill effects. Only the difference is that global warming can take away lives immediately if global dimming vanishes. On the other hand, global dimming act as a sweet poison which will not kill immediately but eventually!

Impact of water scarcity

Water scarcity has always remained a concerned problem. In most parts of the world, people don’t even get clean water to drink. More than 1.2 billion people don’t have access to clean water. They have to take contaminated water for survival. Many animals die every year due to this water scarcity.

Water is an essential part of our life. 70% of our body is made of water. Although, earth is also made up of 70% water and 30% land but the available fresh drinking water resources are less than 2%.

When water crises hit, it takes away many lives and create unending problems to a society. Here are the major areas which are affected by water scarcity:

Health: In many countries, due to water scarcity, people are forced to drink contaminated water. This water affects their health. When contaminated water enter their body, it creates a lot of diseases. Moreover water scarcity leads to poor sanitation facilities which create risk to the lives of people. People have to use stagnant water in which water born disease like malaria starts its life. Hence, it becomes a dangerous game for the people.

Hunger: Water is one resource which is a necessity of every living being. Either it is a plant, animal or human being. When scarcity of water arises, it becomes difficult to provide plants with necessary water. 70% of world’s water is used for agriculture and its crises leads to decrease in crop production. In most areas, agriculture is dependent on rains which are probable. This adds more weightage to world hunger crises.

Education: Education doesn’t seem directly linked to water scarcity but in actual, it is related to it. In many parts of the world where people are hit by water scarcity, children especially girls are abandoned to go to school to serve family by bringing water from farthermost areas. If they go to school, then they have to work at their homes too which makes them tired and decreases their efficiency of studying.

Poverty: As water is not accessible to many people. It decreases their standard of living. It becomes difficult for people to arrive at their work place on time. If people have to worry about the very basic necessity of their life ‘water’ do they would be able to contribute their 100% at work?

Water scarcity is a problem which has a huge impact on key areas of life as it is linked to basic needs of every life form. Without it, we can’t even think of survival. Water is a precious resource and it’s our duty not to waste it. Today, we have access to it. It’s not certain that we’ll have the same access tomorrow. Situation can change with time. We need to respect it and should make wise use out of it!
